Catlin, Ill, Jan 8 - Mrs. Ellen Jinkins, 76 years of age, a pioneer resident of this vicinity died at the home of her son, David Jinkins of the Bethel neighborhood 3 1/2 miles northwest of this village at 8:15 o'clock tonight. Her death came after an illness of three months and was brought on by the infirmities of old age. Four sons and two daughters survive, namely: John of Fairmount; Charles of Garfield, Oklahoma; David and Lon, both resideing in the Bethel community; Mrs. Mary Gleason of Tilton and Mrs. Clara Thomas of near this village. She also has many other relatives including Ralph Jinkins, a young Danville attorney. Her death was expected momentarily, her physician giving up hope of her recovery several days ago. She follows her husband in death several years. No funeral arrangements have been made tonight but will probably be announced tomorrow.

Catlin, Ill - Jan 8 - Mrs. Ellen Jenkins, one of the oldest women of this vicinity died tonight at 8 o'clock after an illness of more than three months. She was past 76 years old and is survived by four sons and two daughters, as follows: John of Fairmount; Charles of Garfield, Ark; Lon and David, living in this vicinity. Mrs. Mary Gleason, Tilton and Mrs. Clara Thomas of this vicinity. Mrs. Jenkins died at the home of her son, David, three and one half miles northwest of this place. No arrangements have been made for the holdings of the funeral. Mrs. Jenkins had been in ill health for some time, but it was not until about three months ago that she became seriouly ill. She is dead of infirmities of old age.
